This report is a little bit phony on at least one account. The organ player and the song service showing behind Oral Roberts big face is not from ORU. It is from the famous "I have sinned" service in 1988, starring Jimmy Swaggart.
When I saw the back of the head of the organ player, I said to myself, "Is Charlie now playing organ for OREA?" But then I saw the sanctuary of Jimmy Swaggart's church and the song that was sung during his famous "I have sinned" speech, and I knew that ABC had pulled a fast one.
And for what reason?
This just gives the bad guys wiggle room.
Dear ABC, when you do a story on ORU, please use an organ player and a song from an ORU or OREA service!
