ORU plays a huge role in the community of South Tulsa. unfortunately its not necessarily a good one. its ultra-christian conservative, republican dominated, single minded behavior suppresses anyone to hold a different idiosyncrasy. its likened to brainwashing the public into accepting its ideals. this story is just the tip of the control that ORU has in politics and at a local community level. what a horrible thing to do. subverting the very laws that hold this country together in order to push an agenda. undermining the innocent tax-paying public. WAKE UP TULSA! we're much better off feeding our own hungry and housing our own homeless and taking care of our own sick than giving millions of dollars for ORU to do it...IF that IS what they do. apparently most of that money goes elsewhere.

the main issue here is that the University is using their extremely profitable religious empire to "buy" policy that would influence society in their favor. Essentially throwing their weight around while hiding under a tax-exempt religious umbrella. What's even more rediculous is that they are accepting MILLIONS from the government as well as the general public. It actually frightens me as a citizen of Tulsa to think that the laws that I'm governed by are bent for those with more money and influential power.

Folks, please cut thru the nonsense and quit purporting to know god(whatever that means)God or whatever has nothing to do with this. Lets pretend there is no god how would you handle what these people have done. You don't need a god or book or a leader to tell you what to do. Search your own mind and heart, if you will, and make your own decision. Take responsilbility. The Roberts are frauds, liars and cheats so quit giving them money. You needed bible stories as children and hopefully it provided some basis for a moral code but enough of all this religiosity. Take a stand and do what you believe is right. Quit depending on all these so called moral leaders to tell you what to do. That only seems to lead to avoidance of responsibility. By the way Robert Tilton is back on the air selling gullible fools what he purports to be holy water. Now theres a project for someone. Do something worthwhile and get him off the air. And Benny Hinn, a true charlatan if ever there was one(on the board I might add). Have you ever seen the cars and houses he owns. There are lots of ways to what is important for your fellow man rather than pay off one of these hucksters to assuage whatever guilt your have or because you are afraid of death. People like John Hagee( also on the board) sell fear and get you to give them money by making you believe somehow that is going to make everything better or promising you salvation all the while telling you He knows god. Give me a break.

If a minister drives a fancy car, has a huge house, and travels in a jet...that's a huge indication that something's off. They're missing the point.
